Rewind and Fast Forward

New postby leebryan on Thu Oct 29, 2009 6:50 am

When I do fast forward, it goes to the end of the podcast. When I rewind, it goes to the beginning of the podcast.
I've tried fooling with Settings/Keyboard Settings, no change, same results no matter how I change them.
My current seek settings:
Rewind a Little: 5s
Rewind a Lot: 30s
Fast Forward a Little: 30s
Fast Forward a Lot: 30s
Fast Forward End: 30s

Still, if I click <<< or << while listening to a podcast, it goes back to the beginning
If I click << or >>>, it goes to about 10 seconds from the end of the podcast.

Same results when I hit 'P' for fast forward or 'Q' to rewind.

Very annoying. This morning I was listening to a podcast and wanted to hear the last 30 seconds, so hit rewind and it went back to the start. Only way to get back to where I was is play it all again.

I had 2.5.0, but after the problem this morning I updated to 2.5.1, same result. I've updated fairly regularly over the last few months and I know fast forward and rewind worked at some point, but I'm not sure when it stopped working for me.

I'm on a Bold 9000 running 4.6.0.303

Love the product overall!

Oh, I just noticed fast forward and rewind seem to work correctly on the Video Podcasts, but not on any of the Audio Podcasts I have.

Have you tried to reload the program?

Many times now I have to do the Fix player, or exit and restart to clear up problems like this.

A lot of the time it depends on the media itself. Some audio just isn't seekable by the built in player ( you can confirm via the 'Play in BBMP' menu option). It generally gets better with newer OS versions, but sometimes it actually gets worse/buggier.

Is it all audio podcasts that exhibit that behavior on your device?
