Overwriting older podcasts automatically

New postby mreyeball on Tue Sep 01, 2009 11:14 am

If this feature isn't included yet, I'll add it as a request...but still familiarizing myself with all the settings, maybe I'm just missing it.
I subscribe to several daily podcasts, and often don't have time to listen to them. I'd like to have PT automatically download and overwrite the older file, regardless of whether I've listened. So ideally, there would only ever be a single, most recent file for that podcast. Am I missing it somewhere?

Ok, so maybe I'm a moron. It's not out of the realm of possibility.

If I set "Downloaded episodes to keep" to 1, and "Max to auto-download" to 1, it should create what I'm looking for? Only question is if the download will happen regardless of whether the older file has been played.

:) There are a lot of options, so it's a bit confusing.

Yep, setting to keep to one is what you want. The auto-download number doesn't really matter, but 1 is good. (As long as it's greater than zero). It will remove the downloads of older files, but keep the record around in case you do want to listen to an older episode, you can redownload it. Let me know if it gives you problems.
