MP4 won't play on 8330

I finally got an MP4 podcast to download, that went OK. But it won't play. If I try to play in PodTrapper it says "waiting for downloads". If I try to play in the BB media player, the screen shows "loading", but nothing happens.

Hi there,

Sadly our curves aren't powerful enough to play the encodings used by most video podcasts. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you.

OK. It will play MP4s when I download them on my PC and then transfer them to the 8330 using Roxio. It just won't play the ones downloaded with Podtrapper.

Yeah, Roxio is able to transcode them on the fly as it transfers. Unfortunately there's no way PodTrapper can do that on-device.

So will it work on the newer models like the Tour??

I don't know about the Tour, but the Storm does not have any problems with Podtrapper and MP4 downloads.

Most newer devices should play most podcasts without issue. There are some that still won't work, but they're pretty few and far between. (I'm unsure on the new curve 8520, I'd love if someone let me know there if they get one).
