OK, I'm going to give it a shot I'm already using a similar app called QuickPhrases which works fine but is a little limited, especially when saving new text as an example. If this app gets the care and attention that Podtrapper has got so far then it will be a real winner. I'll work with it for a few days and report back, Many Thanks Doug
So far so good, just copied over all my phrases and tried out a few emails, working nicely. Suggestion, would it be possible to save phrases to SD card? Two problems so far, When I want to make a new folder I enter text in the "Enter Folder Name" box but no text shows, but it will create a new folder with the right name. Auto reply works ok for an email, but not for text message. (When I first used the app I got an error message re sms's but was not able to note it down or take screen shot, it was a RIM exception...sorry)
I actually talked about this with another developer at the dev conference. Basically the issue is an OS limitation where only one application can listen for SMS messages on the device. So if ready reply is listening, then no other application can, and if another application is listening, ready reply can't. It's a huge pain, but unfortunately there's no workaround that I've found, yet.
Do you know which application may also be listening?
Sorry I don't have a better answer for you there...

Hi Marcus, The only apps that I have running that might be listening would be Aerize Alerts (set to pop up alerts on emails and sms) and BerryBuzz (set to flash colored led when sms arrives). Doug
Marcus, Are you planning to extend the time on the Beta?, it says it's valid for 30 days, and have you had any thoughts on how much you'd charge for it? Thanks, Doug
Hi Marcus, The other app I have is http://www.mobihand.com/product.asp?id= ... ck-Phrases That was $0.99 I would pay around $1.99 for the way it is now, and if you added the SD card back-up and the ability to import just one part of a mail not the whole mail then I would say $2.99 is fair. Doug
Just been playing a bit more with importing from an email, I can import plain text messages ok but not html format emails, is this right? I can import from SMS ok.
I'll push a new release out tomorrow that extends the trial a bit (if I don't, shoot me an email or another post to remind me). It's actually getting rolled into another 'utility belt' tool I'm building, it'll have the canned responses, auto responses, and a ton of other little tools to make BB life easier. So Ready Reply won't actually ever be a full product itself, I don't think.

Hey Marcus, I haven't seen any new release notification, just a text that tells me the app expired -8 days ago. What do you have in mind for the Tool Belt App? I was ready to put down $'s for Ready Replies though Doug
Sorry about that, forgot to push it. I just pushed it though, if you install the new version it should reset the clock back to 30 days again. Let me know if not.
