I moved from a Blackberry Storm2 to a Droid X and I miss the physical button on BB that pauses the audio (it was the 'mute' button). On the Droid X, the physical button that would work best would be the camera button. By default a 'long' hold of the camera button brings up the camera app, but a short click of the camera button doesn't do anything. Would be wonderful if this would be a pause/play button. Thanks!
This would be great but with so many differences between the many Android phones it would surely have to be a button that you could self assign. Even then, with all of the different brands, I imagine this could be very difficult no matter how desirable. If it is do-able though I'd find this feature an invaluable addition.
Very nice, but on my Cliq XT it only seems to work when the screen is not locked. I wonder if this is one of the many bugs of my phone.
Does it work for others with locked screen?
My bluetooth headset's play/pause button works most of the time (not always) even with locked screen, but it looks funny as I keep touching my ear to pause/play the podcasts.
I think I have an idea. I can detect when the screen turns on/off, which is directly controlled by the power button (which I can't detect). What I'm thinking is that I could indirectly detect a double-press of the power button by detecting a rapid screen on/off cycle. (Either on->off->on or off->on->off). My concern is that this would be inadvertently triggered in some cases, but I'm not familiar enough with general android use to know. (Though that concern may be mitigated by auto-stop)
Thoughts?

Unfortunately I can only see the secondary effects (the volume going up and down), and that's only if I poll for the changes which is battery intensive. It's not possible for PodTrapper to see the volume key presses themselves.
