Desktop Downloader 1.3 (with proxy support)

Hi guys,

I finally got proxy support working in the desktop downloader, grab it here. Make sure you exit the current one before installing.

It should pick up whatever the proxy settings are in internet explorer, though it doesn't support SOCKS. I only have generic proxy software to test with, so let me know if you run into issues.

I just saw this post after sending a request to you on trouble getting a good install on my Vista 64 bit laptop. Tried downloading from your link in the post and got the "Installer integrity check has failed." message. Something I might be doing wrong?

Thanks,

Hmm, bad download perhaps? Though it could be an OS issue, not sure. (I only have XP 32-bit to test it on).

Anyone else seeing problems like this?

Try disabling windows firewall and installing again.

EDIT: the most common cause for this error is partial or corrupted downloads and I assumed you re-downloaded...

Hi marwatk

Any chance to make the proxy editable? I need to use an other proxy than the one setup in the browser (company policy)… :?

Thanks

Hi chr,

I can do this, but it a fair amount of work. Would you mind submitting it as a feature request so I can gauge where to prioritize it?
