I didn't see this specific request so I'm submitting it. It would be awesome to have the Desktop Downloader provide the same functionality it already does for PodTrapper to other apps as well, or to the device in general. I've searched high and low for an app that would replicate this function for all apps and have found none. I would even purchase this as a standalone application.

Sadly it's not possible. Each app would have to include support for the USB transport, which isn't likely. I can file a feature request with RIM for it, though.
